[A soft, steady tick from behind you lifts up into the range of your hearing, and then fades as you begin to walk. The heartbeat thumps gently, first a little to one side of you, and then directly in front as you move.]
[The sound roars, beating frantically, spiraling into some hasty, irregular pattern.]
[Your chest blooms into fireworks of pain. Heavy bands seem to wrap around and sink under your ribs, constricting your ability to get a good breath. The pain shoots up your neck and down your arms and you feel your body shake and sweat.
Ahead, you make out the simple, four squares of a window.]
[Whoa whoa whoa, what is going on. Crying out some--at least as much as he can with his breath so restricted--and stumbling to a stop to clutch at his ribs and try to breathe--]
[Distantly, as if you are miles away from your own body, you feel yourself drop to your knees and your cheek hit the warm, moving surface of the floor.
Re: [Night 0]
Hey, there's people I've got to get back to. How do I get out of here, where'm I supposed to go?

Re: [Night 0]
Hey... Is someone--or something--there? ...Are you a Remnant, too?
Re: [Night 0]
Re: [Night 0]
[Shrugs, pausing--was that ticking? ...Nah, no way. Continuing towards the heartbeat, a little faster now]
Re: [Night 0]
[The beat is stronger now, quickening and loud in your ears. Up ahead, you see a faint light, a vague pale grey like a muted sunrise.]

[Greedily he sucks down a few breaths before steeling himself and pushing forward again towards the window.]

And then nothing else at all.]
